Triton Central extended their postseason success on Tuesday against Hagerstown. They came out on top against Hagerstown by a score of 5-2. Winning may never get old, but Triton Central sure is getting used to it with their 15th in a row.
Brylie Couch was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off seven hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ashlyn Hittle, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Madi Peterson also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.
Triton Central lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hagerstown didn't launched any home runs.
Triton Central's record now sits at 23-2. As for Hagerstown, the defeat snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 20-3 record.
Coming up, Triton Central will take on Salem at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Lions will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight. Hagerstown does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
