Basketball Recap: McKenzie Comes Up Short

McKenzie played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Highland Home Flying Squadron and fell 71-31. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 424th, while the Flying Squadron are ranked 210th).

It was another big night for JaNya Foster, who went 16 of 38 on her way to 40 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals for Highland Home. The match was Foster's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Annsley Garrad, who posted five points and three steals.

McKenzie is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-18. As for Highland Home, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 17-8.

McKenzie does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Highland Home, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 46-32 win against Brantley on the 30th.
