Recap: Bella Vista Broncos vs. Del Oro Golden Eagles

The Bella Vista Broncos's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. The matchup between Bella Vista and Del Oro wasn't particularly close, with Bella Vista falling 77-60. While losing is never fun, Bella Vista can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 563rd, while Del Oro is ranked 65th).

Bella Vista's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mikey Simonyan, who scored 19 points. Simonyan scored a full 31.7% of Bella Vista's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mark Otrotsyuk, who scored 11 points.

Even though they lost, Bella Vista were working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Del Oro only racked up 17.

It was another big night for Caden Pinnick, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 assists for Del Oro. The game was Pinnick's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Reid Brear was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with 5 rebounds.

Bella Vista has fallen quite a ways from their 20-9 record last season and are now at 2-5. As for Del Oro, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Bella Vista will be playing at home against Del Campo at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Del Oro will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Placer at 7:30 p.m. on December 12th.
