Soccer Game Preview: Berkley vs. Royal Oak

The Berkley Bears will head out on the road to challenge the Royal Oak Ravens at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Berkley's offense. They fell 2-0 to Seaholm/Groves on Tuesday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Berkley came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan soccer rankings (they are ranked 21st, while Seaholm/Groves are ranked 210th).

Meanwhile, Royal Oak was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to Seaholm.

Royal Oak suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 3-7-1. As for Berkley, their loss dropped their record down to 8-3-3.

Berkley skirted past Royal Oak 2-1 in their previous meeting back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bears since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
