The home team had come away the winner the last three times JSerra Catholic and Orange Lutheran had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Lions came out on top against the Lancers by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. This was payback for the Lions, who suffered a 3-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

JSerra Catholic walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the second set). The final score came out to 25-20, 25-14, 27-29, 25-20.

Makayla Ziegler paced JSerra Catholic's offense, picking up 22 kills. Ziegler got some help from Catherine Beadles and her 43 assists. Charlotte Nowak controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

JSerra Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 16-11. As for Orange Lutheran, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 24-6 record this season.

JSerra Catholic will be playing at home against Mater Dei at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Monarchs will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something the Lions surely won't give up without a fight. As for Orange Lutheran, they will take on Santa Margarita at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
