Basketball Recap: Rank Disadvantage No Problem for Lake Norman Christian

It was a proper cat-fight when Lake Norman Christian took on Parris Prep Academy on Saturday. The Lake Norman Christian Lions walked away with a 68-58 victory over the Parris Prep Academy Panthers. The win was all the more spectacular given the Lions' disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 158th, while the Panthers are ranked 50th).

Lake Norman Christian is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 21-12 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.2 points over those games. As for Parris Prep Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-12.

Looking ahead, Lake Norman Christian will square off against Forsyth Home Educators at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Lake Norman Christian is facing Forsyth Home Educators at the right time seeing as Forsyth Home Educators is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Parris Prep Academy, they will host Legacy Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Parris Prep Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Legacy Prep likes a good challenge.
