Baseball Recap: Saugerties Beats Bethlehem Central for Their Third Straight Victory

Saugerties proved they can win big on Monday (they won by 11) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over the Bethlehem Central Eagles. This was payback for the Sawyers, who suffered a 10-3 defeat the last time these two teams met.

The win was the third in a row for Saugerties, bringing their record up to 3-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Bethlehem Central, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Saugerties will venture away from home to face off against Highland at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Huskies will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Sawyers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Bethlehem Central, they are taking a road trip to square off against Shenendehowa at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday.
