Douglas County has no trouble against Poudre

The Douglas County Huskies entered their tilt with the Poudre Impalas with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Douglas County put the hurt on Poudre with a sharp 72-48 win on Saturday. That looming 72-48 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Douglas County yet this season.

It was another big night for Reilly Guerra, who scored 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Dale, who scored 15 points.

Despite the loss, Poudre had strong showings from Kaden Cox, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds, and Taylor Cornell-Nosaka, who scored 11 points. Cox scored a full 27.1% of Poudre's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Douglas County's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Poudre, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Douglas County will square off against Eaglecrest at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Eaglecrest has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 532 points over their last seven matchups. As for Poudre, they will head out on the road to face off against Standley Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Standley Lake is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
