Basketball Preview: River View Black Bears vs. Coshocton Redskins
River View is on an 11-game streak of home losses (dating back to last season), the Redskins an 18-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. The River View Black Bears will take on the Coshocton Redskins at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. River View comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
On Saturday, things could have been worse for River View, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 37-23 loss to the Electrics. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for River View in their matchups with the Electrics: they've now lost four in a row.
Meanwhile, Coshocton had to suffer through a rough 69-15 loss at the hands of the Panthers. While losing is never fun, Coshocton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 749th, while the Panthers are ranked 246th).
River View's loss dropped their record down to 2-17. As for Coshocton, their loss dropped their record down to 0-20.
Everything came up roses for River View against the Redskins in their previous meeting back in November of 2023 as the squad secured a 60-26 win. Will River View repeat their success, or do the Redskins have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
