Volleyball Game Preview: Lake Mary Rams vs. Winter Park Wildcats

The Lake Mary Rams will venture away from home to square off against the Winter Park Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Lake Mary has struggled recently with five defeats in a row, while Winter Park will arrive with three straight wins.

Lake Mary heads in on the heels of a playoff match on Tuesday. They came up short against Hagerty, falling 3-0.

Meanwhile, Winter Park faced Timber Creek in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Wildcats blew past the Wolves 3-0.

Lake Mary better focus on containing Nicholas Baker and Aidan Fontaine as the pair were huge in Winter Park's win. Baker had nine digs and three assists, while Fontaine hit 78.3% for 19 kills and five digs. Fontaine has been hot, having posted six or more kills the last six times he's played.

Winter Park couldn't miss and finished the game having scored on 43.5% of their attack attempts. The last time their hitting percentage was this high was was before the start of last season.

Winter Park's record is now 17-5. As for Lake Mary, their loss dropped their record down to 13-9.

Lake Mary couldn't quite get it done against Winter Park in their previous matchup back in April of 2022 as they fell 2-0. Can the Rams avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
