Baseball Recap: Seagoville Dragons vs. West Mesquite Wranglers

Seagoville won against Conrad last Saturday with five runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Seagoville Dragons walked away with a 5-1 victory over the West Mesquite Wranglers. The win was familiar territory for Seagoville who now have three in a row.

Carlos Silva spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on one hit and racked up 16 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive pitching appearances.

At the plate, Reese Wilson was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and a stolen base. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Erik Contreras, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Seagoville's victory bumped their record up to 11-19. As for West Mesquite, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-18 record this season.
