Basketball Recap: Anderson Piles Up the Points Against Western Brown

Anderson won the last time they faced Western Brown and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Anderson Raptors blew past the Western Brown Broncos 76-48. The Raptors pushed the score to 54-30 by the end of the third, a deficit the Broncos had little chance of recovering from.

Anderson was led to victory by Toby Strausbaugh and Ace Alston. Strausbaugh went 7 of 10 en route to 20 points and eight boards, while Alston posted 15 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. Strausbaugh continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Trace Jallick, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine assists.

The win made it two in a row for Anderson and bumps their season record up to 4-10. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 41.7% in those games and 24% outside of them. As for Western Brown, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-14.

Anderson has already played their next contest, a 57-54 defeat against Loveland on the 5th. As for Western Brown, they will face off against Batavia at 8:30 p.m. on Friday.
