Softball Recap: Alisal Comes Up Short

Alisal dropped their record down to 14-5 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Pacific Grove Breakers, falling 9-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Breakers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-0 back in March.

Micah Smith made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

As for Pacific Grove, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-6. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games.

On Pacific Grove's side, Alex Giammanco spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on eight hits and racked up 13 Ks. Giammanco has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Savannah Hardy and Isis Turner did most of the damage at the plate: Hardy went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one double, while Turner went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles Turner has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ella Lee, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and one double.

Coincidentally, Alisal and Pacific Grove will both be playing Stevenson the next time they take the field. The Breakers will head out to face the Pirates at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Trojans will host them at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
