Basketball Recap: Union City Comes Up Short

Union City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were dealt a 61-27 loss at the hands of the Hydro-Eakly Bobcats. The Tigers lost against the Bobcats in their previous head to head back in February, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 50-42 score last time.

Union City's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Hydro-Eakly, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Union City will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Thomas-Fay-Custer at 8:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025. Hydro-Eakly will take on Southwest Covenant in a holiday battle at at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Hydro-Eakly is on a three-game streak of home wins, Southwest Covenant a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
