Softball Recap: Powers' Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Powers came tearing into Wednesday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.2 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Umpqua Valley Christian Monarchs with a sharp 18-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Cruisers, who have now won nine games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Powers' victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-2. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.3 runs over those games. As for Umpqua Valley Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Powers will venture away from home to square off against North Douglas at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Umpqua Valley Christian, they will head out to take on Yoncalla at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
