Basketball Game Preview: Muldrow Bulldogs vs. Checotah Wildcats

Muldrow and Checotah are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2018, but not for long. The Muldrow Bulldogs will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Checotah Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Muldrow has four straight wins, Checotah has nine straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Muldrow got their first taste of in-conference action this week and they started things off strong. They enjoyed a cozy 63-45 victory over Poteau on Tuesday. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 117th, while the Pirates are ranked 373rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Checotah was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 46-41 to Sallisaw.

Checotah's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Muldrow, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.

Muldrow couldn't quite finish off Checotah in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 and fell 50-48. Can Muldrow avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
