Football Recap: Ilwaco Takes a Loss

After some red-hot attacks on offense in their last three matchups, Ilwaco finally came back down to earth on Friday. They came up short against Pe Ell/Willapa Valley, falling 21-0. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Fishermen were not able to get on the board.

Haddox Hazen threw for 39 yards on three of seven attempts. Cody Kaino was his top target, picking up 33 receiving yards. On the ground, Dylan Pelas rushed for 43 yards.

Ilwaco's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Pe Ell/Willapa Valley, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1.

Ilwaco didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 34-7 defeat against Napavine on the 17th. As for Pe Ell/Willapa Valley, they have also already played their next matchup, a 34-9 win against Forks on the 17th.
