Recap: St. Anthony Yellowjackets vs. St. Augustine Knights
Make it ten blowout wins for the St. Anthony Yellowjackets this season. They blew past St. Augustine 53-33. The win was some much needed relief for St. Anthony as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Leading St. Anthony to victory were Laura Sierra and Alejandra Vargas. Sierra dropped a triple-double on 12 points, ten rebounds, and ten blocks, while Vargas dropped a double-double on 12 points and 15 assists. Sierra is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lisette Vargas, who scored six points along with six steals.
St. Anthony now has a winning record of 12-11. As for St. Augustine, their defeat was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-6.
St. Anthony will square off against Providence Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Providence Catholic has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 15. As for St. Augustine, they will be playing at home against St. Joseph Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
