Basketball Recap: Cornerstone Christian Continues Home Dominance on Friday

Cornerstone Christian had won 23 straight home games dating back to last season and Haikeem Shaw did his part to make it 24 on Friday. The Cornerstone Christian Cougars walked away with a 57-45 victory over the Bentley Phoenix thanks in part to Shaw, who posted 11 points in addition to six rebounds and four blocks. Those four blocks gave him a new career-high.

Anthony Thomasson was another key player, putting up six points. He has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played.

Cornerstone Christian is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season. As for Bentley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cornerstone Christian will take on Head-Royce at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cornerstone Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.4 points per game this season. As for Bentley, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against St. Joseph Notre Dame at 5:30 p.m. St. Joseph Notre Dame knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine matchups -- so hopefully Bentley likes a good challenge.
