Soccer Game Preview: Niles North vs. Lincoln Park

The Niles North Vikings will venture away from home to square off against the Lincoln Park Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Niles North's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Things were looking good for Niles North after they put the first goals on the board on Saturday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Taft by a score of 2-1.

Meanwhile, Lincoln Park kept a clean sheet against Maine West on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 9-0 margin over the Warriors. It was an even better day for Carolina Carreon as she scored three goals for her team.

The victory made it two in a row for Lincoln Park and bumps their season record up to 6-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 18 goals over those two matchups. As for Niles North, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Niles North took their victory against Lincoln Park in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 7-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
