It was a good run, but Mt. Blue unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 51-39 to the Messalonskee Eagles. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 48-37 back in January.

Mt. Blue's loss dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Messalonskee, they pushed their record up to 14-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Mt. Blue Cougars challenge the Gardiner Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Messalonskee, they will venture away from home to face off against Skowhegan at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Messalonskee is facing Skowhegan at the right time seeing as Skowhegan is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
