Chenango Forks takes loss despite strong efforts from Ethan Vaseleck and Stephen Samsel

Recap: Chenango Forks Blue Devils vs. Seton Catholic Central Saints

The Chenango Forks Blue Devils were the 75-64 winner over the Seton Catholic Central Saints when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Chenango Forks took a serious blow against Seton Catholic Central on Tuesday, falling 84-26. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Chenango Forks has scored all season.

Chenango Forks' loss came despite strong showings from Stephen Samsel and Ethan Vaseleck. Samsel scored nine points, while Vaseleck scored five points. Samsel scored a full 34.6% of Chenango Forks' points, the seventh time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Seton Catholic Central got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Brian Dempsey out in front who scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Allan Eagles, who scored 11 points.

Chenango Forks has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. As for Seton Catholic Central, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chenango Forks will take on Owego Free Academy at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Owego Free Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Chenango Forks in New York (Owego Free Academy is ranked 118th, while Chenango Forks is ranked 370th). As for Seton Catholic Central, they will be playing at home against Waverly at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Waverly is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
