Florence came out on top against South Jones on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run seventh inning. The Eagles had just enough and edged out the Braves 7-6. The Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Braves, too.
Brayden McMillan was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden White, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
The win made it two in a row for Florence and bumps their season record up to 2-1-2. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6 runs in those games. As for South Jones, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Florence will welcome Mendenhall at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for South Jones, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against West Jones at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
