Basketball Game Preview: Roxana Shells vs. Breese Central Cougars + How To Watch

Roxana hasn't had much luck against Breese Central recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Shells will challenge the Cougars at 7:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

On Saturday, Roxana came up short against Triad and fell 57-44.

Meanwhile, Breese Central suffered their biggest loss since December 16, 2025 on Saturday. They had to suffer through a 66-33 loss at the hands of Nashville. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 130th, while the Hornets are ranked 36th).

Roxana's defeat dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Breese Central, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 15-7.

Roxana beat Breese Central 42-29 in their previous matchup back in December of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Shells since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
