Basketball Recap: Calvary Christian Comes Up Short

Calvary Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost to the Emmanuel Christian Academy Lions at home by a 40-24 margin. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 40-16 back in December of 2024.

Mya Lawrence was nothing short of spectacular for Emmanuel Christian Academy: she posted 11 points along with eight boards and seven steals. Another player making a difference was Abbey Hudson, who earned 16 points and five rebounds.

Calvary Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Emmanuel Christian Academy, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-9 record.

Calvary Christian has already played their next match (against Spring Valley Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Emmanuel Christian Academy will welcome Dayton Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
