Basketball Recap: Denver North Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Denver North entered their tilt with DSST: Montview on Thursday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They strolled past the DSST: Montview Knights with points to spare, taking the game 57-41. The Vikings pushed the score to 46-24 by the end of the third, a deficit the Knights cut but never quite recovered from.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Denver North to victory, but perhaps none more so than Emma Lamar, who went 9-for-13 en route to 21 points and five boards. The dominant performance gave Lamar a new career-high in points. Eden Gutierrez was another key player, putting up 12 points and six steals.

DSST: Montview lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Emmie Kouyate, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten rebounds. She has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Mykah Rimpson, who posted six points along with 12 boards and five assists.

Denver North pushed their record up to 13-8 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for DSST: Montview, their loss dropped their record down to 15-6.

Coming up, Denver North will take on DSST: Cedar at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. DSST: Cedar will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Denver North surely won't give up without a fight. As for DSST: Montview, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 36-35 defeat against Regis Groff on the 21st.
