Baseball Recap: Henry County Takes a Loss

Henry County fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Frankfort on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 5-4. The defeat leaves the Wildcats still looking for their first win of the season.

Henry County got a good showing from Drew Cole, who didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave Cole a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

At the plate, Jaylan Hortenbury made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Baylor Nolin, who scored two runs and stole two bases.

Henry County's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Frankfort, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.

Coincidentally, Henry County and Frankfort will both be playing Lafayette the next time they take the field. Henry County will host Lafayette at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, while Frankfort will play them later in the day, at 4:00 p.m.
