Softball Recap: Treutlen Beats Wheeler County for Their Sixth Straight Win

Treutlen put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against the Wheeler County Bulldogs by a score of 6-3. While the Vikings didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-10), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Ella Roberson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits and racked up seven Ks. Those seven strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

Treutlen's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Wheeler County, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Treutlen will take on Montgomery County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.5 runs per game on average), something the Vikings will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Wheeler County, they will head out on the road to challenge Statesboro at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
