Olympia proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 15) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Auburn Trojans 3-1. This was payback for the Spartans, who suffered a 4-3 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Olympia's record is now 10-6-1. As for Auburn, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 13-3 record.

Looking ahead, Olympia will be taking part in a tournament against Gillespie at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Auburn, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Greenfield/Northwestern at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season.
