Baseball Recap: Seeger Victorious

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Seeger ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Tri-County Cavaliers 12-11. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Patriots considering their two-run performance the matchup before.

The team relied heavily on Jarrett Smith, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI and one triple. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Garrett Wontor, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

Seeger is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Tri-County, their loss dropped their record down to 11-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Seeger will welcome McCutcheon at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
