Baseball Recap: Dayspring Christian Academy Wins Going Away Against Bishop Machebeuf

Dayspring Christian Academy came out on top against Bishop Machebeuf on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive 11-run fifth inning. The Eagles put the hurt on the Buffaloes with a sharp 13-3 win. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Buffaloes recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Owen Steward made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. Those doubles were his first of the season.

In other batting news, Gavin Bohl was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. Logan Vaniddekinge was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

Dayspring Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bishop Machebeuf only posted an OBP of .286.

Dayspring Christian Academy's record is now 14-3. As for Bishop Machebeuf, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season.
