Baseball Recap: Marshall Comes Up Short

Marshall suffered their closest defeat since April 23, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Fulton Hornets by a score of 6-4. The loss continues a trend for the Owls in their meetings with the Hornets: they've now lost eight in a row.

Marshall saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brock Marshall, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that Marshall brought in this season. Logan Kirchhoff was another, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Marshall's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Fulton, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marshall will challenge Capital City at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Fulton, they will square off against Mexico at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
