Milton is a perfect 6-0 against Booker T. Washington since February of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wildcats at 6:30 p.m.
Milton easily dispatched Baker on Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Panthers fell just short of Navarre by a score of 4-2 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Panthers have suffered against the Raiders since April 13, 2021.
Milton saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alexis Hawthorne, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Booker T. Washington). They blew past Aletheia Christian Academy 20-5 on Tuesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Wildcats needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.
Jaydence Bennett made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off three hits. Bennett was even better at the plate, going 4-for-5 with six RBI, three runs, and two doubles. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Skylar Brown was incredible, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with five RBI, three runs, and one double. What's more, she posted three hits, the most she's had since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Lana Van Wyck, who scored three runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
Milton's loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Booker T. Washington, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-17 record.
Everything went Milton's way against Booker T. Washington in their previous matchup back in March, as Milton made off with a 15-0 win. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
