Superior and Chippewa Falls pushed the score to 17-10 the last time they played Chippewa Falls, but on Monday defenses reigned supreme. The Spartans' pitcher stepped up to hand the Cardinals a 4-0 shutout. The win was nothing new for the Spartans as they're now sitting on five straight.
Arianna Robillard was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Melania Luostari was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season.
Superior pushed their record up to 9-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.
