Basketball Recap: Bladensburg Takes a Loss

Bladensburg lost against Flowers back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Bladensburg Mustangs had to suffer through a 91-49 loss at the hands of the Flowers Jaguars. The Mustangs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 51-27.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Flowers to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tyrell Bowles, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 boards. Bowles' evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Chuka Anagbogu was another key player, going 7 for 13 en route to 17 points and six rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Bladensburg and nudges their season record down to 4-10-1. As for Flowers, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 12-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bladensburg will host Suitland at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Flowers, they will challenge High Point at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
