Volleyball Recap: Avon Comes Up Short

Avon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Farmington River Hawks. The Falcons were not able to make up for their loss to the River Hawks from their previous meeting back in November of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-12, 25-3.

Despite the loss, Avon still got an impressive performance from Ainsley Evans, who had ten digs and two aces. Evans has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last six times she's played.

Avon's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Farmington, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

Avon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Plainville on the 22nd. As for Farmington, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Academy of Science and Innovation on the 22nd.
