Volleyball Recap: Weaver Comes Up Short

Weaver lost against New Britain back in October of 2016 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Beavers took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Golden Hurricanes.

The final score came out to 25-15, 22-25, 25-23, 25-13.

New Britain can attribute much of their success to Mia Zayas, who had 13 digs and one assist. Zayas has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last six times she's played. Madison Aiudi was another key player, getting nine digs and three aces.

Weaver's defeat was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-2. As for New Britain, their win bumped their record up to 5-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Weaver will square off against Academy of International Studies at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for New Britain, they will head out to square off against Platt at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
