Basketball Recap: Sheffield Takes a Loss

Sheffield lost against Power Center Academy back in November, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Sheffield Knights were dealt a 59-10 loss at the hands of the Power Center Academy Knights. The match marked Sheffield's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the defeat, Sheffield saw an underclassman step up: freshman Chloe Robinson posted eight points along with 12 boards and four steals. Those 12 boards set a new season-high mark for Robinson.

Sheffield dropped their record down to 3-6 with the loss, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Power Center Academy, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-3.

Sheffield will be playing in front of their home fans against Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Power Center Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Memphis School of Excellence Winchester at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Memphis School of Excellence Winchester knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Power Center Academy likes a good challenge.
