The Canyon Springs Pioneers will head out to square off against the Desert Pines Jaguars at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. Canyon Springs is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 6.8 goals per game this season.

Canyon Springs is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Cimarron-Memorial, who was ranked 23rd at the time (Canyon Springs was ranked eighth). The Pioneers were the clear victors by a 4-0 margin over the Spartans last Wednesday. The score was close at halftime, but Canyon Springs pulled away in the second half with three goals.

They hit Cimarron-Memorial with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Daniela Mayorga, Natalie Rodriguez, Marisa Davila, and Camila Mayorga.

Meanwhile, Desert Pines was not able to break out of their rough patch last Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 5-0 to Eldorado. The contest was up for grabs at halftime, but sadly Desert Pines struggled afterwards.

The win made it two in a row for Canyon Springs and bumps their season record up to 10-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those two matches. As for Desert Pines, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.

Canyon Springs took their win against Desert Pines in their previous matchup back in August by a conclusive 8-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pioneers since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
