Baseball Recap: Gloucester County Christian Takes a Loss

After flying high against Cumberland Christian on Monday, Gloucester County Christian came back down to earth. The Conquerors fell 11-7 to the King's Christian Knights on Tuesday. The Conquerors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

JD Greenwood was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base.

Greenwood wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was David Dellarova, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Dellarova is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.

Gloucester County Christian's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for King's Christian, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-5.

Looking ahead, Gloucester County Christian will be playing in front of their home fans against Atlantic Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for King's Christian, they will venture away from home to square off against Moorestown Friends at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
