Preview: Crescent Tigers vs. Walhalla Razorbacks
Crescent is 2-8 against Walhalla since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Crescent Tigers on the road again and play against the Walhalla Razorbacks at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Crescent suffered their biggest loss since December 7, 2023 on Tuesday. Their rough 69-49 defeat to Seneca might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Crescent can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 283rd, while Seneca is ranked 62nd).
Meanwhile, Walhalla's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Daniel at home and fell 88-52. Walhalla has struggled against Daniel recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Crescent dropped their record down to 2-12 with that loss, which was their 17th straight on the road. As for Walhalla, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost nine of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.
Crescent came up short against Walhalla in their previous matchup two weeks ago, falling 66-59. Can Crescent avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
