Basketball Game Preview: Lakeville South Cougars vs. Lakeville North Panthers

A classic North v. South matchup is on the schedule. The Lakeville South Cougars will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lakeville North Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Last Tuesday, Lakeville South ended up a good deal behind Prior Lake and lost 56-42. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 72nd, while the Lakers are ranked seventh).

Meanwhile, Lakeville North greeted the New Year with with a 56-37 win over Shakopee. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Lakeville North pushed their record up to 5-6 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Lakeville South, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.
