Soccer Game Preview: Wheatland vs. Marysville

The Wheatland Pirates will head out to challenge the Marysville Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Wheatland's last three games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Last Tuesday, Wheatland didn't have quite enough to beat Colfax and fell 3-2.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Marysville). They blew past Bear River 7-0 on Tuesday.

Marysville's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3-1 and their overall record up to 2-6-1. As for Wheatland, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7-2 record this season.

Wheatland took their victory against Marysville in their previous matchup back in January of 2024 by a conclusive 4-1. Will Wheatland repeat their success, or does Marysville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
