Volleyball Recap: Goshen RedHawks vs. West Noble Chargers
Goshen had to start their season on the road on Monday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They came up short against the West Noble Chargers, falling 3-0. The RedHawks were not able to make up for their defeat to the Chargers from their previous meeting back in August of 2024.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-4, 25-17, 25-16.
Jalynne Williams paced Goshen's offense, picking up three kills. Williams got some help from Faith Elrod and her three assists. Finally, Williams was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high four blocks.
West Noble's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Darcy Ritchie, who had five digs and four aces. Ritchie is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last five games she's played dating back to last season. Kailyn Slone was another key player, getting 16 assists.
West Noble's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.
Goshen wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Westview on the 21st. As for West Noble, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Elkhart Christian Academy on the 21st.
