The Columbia Central Golden Eagles will challenge the East Jackson Trojans at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Columbia Central is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
On Tuesday, Columbia Central needed a bit of extra time to put away Northwest. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Mounties 4-2.

Hailey Wetherby spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on two hits and racked up 16 Ks. Those 16 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kelsey Fausz, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Gianna Evans, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
Meanwhile, East Jackson scored first but ultimately less than Manchester in their contest on Monday. They lost 14-3 to the Flying Dutchmen. The loss continues a trend for the Trojans in their meetings with the Flying Dutchmen: they've now lost four in a row.
East Jackson saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kilah Boatright, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
Columbia Central pushed their record up to 9-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for East Jackson, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
East Jackson's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Columbia Central hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .338. It's a different story for East Jackson, though, as they've only averaged .223. Will they be able to contain Columbia Central's hitters?
Everything went Columbia Central's way against East Jackson when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Columbia Central made off with a 10-0 win. Will the Golden Eagles repeat their success, or do the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
