Football Recap: Emmett Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Eli Brennan and Nessen Korell

Emmett lost against Vallivue back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Huskies fell 28-21 to the Falcons. That's two games in a row now that the Huskies have lost by exactly seven points.

Despite the defeat, Emmett had strong showings from Nessen Korell, who gained 166 total yards and three touchdowns, and Eli Brennan, who rushed for 90 yards. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 51 yards.

Onix Carson had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 193 yards and four scores while picking up 7.1 yards per carry for Vallivue. Isreal Pina also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.

This is the second loss in a row for Emmett and nudges their season record down to 3-3. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 33.5 points over those games. As for Vallivue, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Emmett is set to face off against their familiar foe Columbia at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Vallivue will square off against rival Ridgevue at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
