With a playoff win on the line, Itawamba Agricultural rose to the challenge on Saturday. They secured a 73-67 W over the South Pontotoc Cougars. The win continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won five in a row.

South Pontotoc lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Braighlen Thompson, who almost dropped a double-double with 15 points and nine boards. Those 15 points gave him a new career-high. Noah Waldrop was another key player, going 5-for-10 to rack up 15 points and five assists.

Itawamba Agricultural's victory bumped their record up to 17-8. As for South Pontotoc, their loss dropped their record down to 19-12.

Coming up, Itawamba Agricultural will square off against Leake Central at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Leake Central will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Itawamba Agricultural surely won't give up without a fight. South Pontotoc does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
