Soccer Game Preview: Delta vs. Manitou Springs

The Delta Panthers will venture away from home to take on the Manitou Springs Mustangs at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Delta sitting on ten straight wins and Manitou Springs on seven.

Manitou Springs better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if Delta's game on Tuesday is any indication, that's when Delta really gets things going. Everything went the Panthers' way against Roaring Fork as they made off with a 5-2 victory. Jessica Black was a massive factor in the win as she booted in four goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Manitou Springs kept a clean sheet against Lamar on Thursday. They skirted past the Thunder 1-0. Manitou Springs' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last four games.

Delta pushed their record up to 10-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 35 goals over those five contests. As for Manitou Springs, their win bumped their record up to 7-1-2.

Delta came up short against Manitou Springs when the teams last played back in May of 2023, falling 2-0. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
