Soccer Recap: River Valley Takes a Loss

After some red-hot attacks on offense in their last four games, River Valley finally came back down to earth on Tuesday. They came up short against the Yuma Catholic Shamrocks, falling 8-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Dust Devils in their matchups with the Shamrocks: they've now lost nine in a row.

River Valley's goal came courtesy of Alyssia Gutierrez, which was the first she's scored this season.

River Valley's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Yuma Catholic, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-6.

River Valley wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next matchup, a 9-1 defeat against Northwest Christian on the 12th. As for Yuma Catholic, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 1-1 draw against Thatcher on the 12th.
