Softball Recap: Bonita Vista Drops Highest Score of Season Against Mar Vista

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bonita Vista). They never let the Mar Vista Mariners get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Barons, who have now won four games by six runs or more so far this season.

Bonita Vista got a great performance from Noelle Kalavi as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. That's the fewest hits Kalavi has allowed since back in May of 2024.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Danica Aboytes, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. Sophia Ambriz was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

Bonita Vista always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Bonita Vista's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Mar Vista, they dropped their record down to 1-5 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, Bonita Vista will take on Mission Hills in a tournament on Monday. As for Mar Vista, they will be taking part in a tournament against Point Loma at 4:45 p.m. on Saturday.
